It's natural to want some authority once in a while. Even all the meek and reserved individuals out there like a little power. Some prefer a great deal of power. How would you rank yourself on this issue? If you ranked yourself really high, then maybe you need a position of power. You know, like a judge or mayor. Heck, maybe governor or president sounds good. Now that would be some crazy power. Or, you could simply become a police officer and use your authoritative power to help the innocent and condemn the guilty. Sound cool? Personally it's not for me. I don't care to deal with the scum that cops grapple with daily. I would rather just kick back and tune into some police scanners.

I was thinking the other days; it's pretty sweet that we, the public, can get access to modern-day police scanners. Okay, you may be asking, "Why in the world would anyone want to do that?" That's fine. I'm not surprised. The truth is I just find it interesting. Talk about reality radio. This is better than "The Real World." With contemporary police scanners you can hear what is currently going down. That means you're actually tuning into what's happening now. Forget about the 11 o'clock news. Get the scoop immediately. This made me wonder about reporters and journalists. How many of them are carrying around police scanners? I would bet that all of them are. This would be the best way to get a big scoop, and avoid being scooped by another network. Am I onto something here or what? It makes total sense to me.

Okay, there is clearly a fine line between being curious and being just down-right nosey. Which category do you fall into? Well, if you're sitting at home or in your car listening to police scanners this very moment, then chances are you're nosey. Ha, just kidding! But seriously, you can acquire these nifty devices on the World-Wide-Web. This is where I went to find out if police scanners were really for sale. Chances are, if it exists, it's for sale online. I think I'll have to pick up one of those radar guns next. This way I can clock everyones speed and report them.
